About us

The Davis & Haynes Ranch has been in operation since the early 1920's as a working cow/calf operation. The ranch spans over 16,000 acres in Shackelford County and is home to whitetail deer, bobwhite quail, turkey, dove, duck, wild boar and of course our cattle which share lineage with our original herd.

We are a 4th generation ranching family and are very proud of our heritage. As such, we always enforced strict standards of business, and it was reflected in the quality of our cattle.

While we are no longer operating the ranch ourselves, we see a bright future with the Holton family.

Holton Cattle

As of May 1, 2013, the Davis & Haynes Ranch became Holton Cattle when Paul Holton and his family assumed operation of the ranch. He and his wife Ginger have immense knowledge and experience in the industry, and will certainly bring new ideas and expertise to an old way of life.

Paul has previously run other large ranches in Texas and Ginger is an Agriculture instructor, soon to receive her masters degree. Their two boys, Carter and Casey have grown up around ranching and will take full advantage of the surroundings as they are both active in livestock showing.

While the backwards DH will be replaced with the Leaning H brand, we feel confident that they will maintain the land, cattle and heritage much as we have for nearly 100 years.
